Prague Castle and Zoo

On Friday we went on a trip to Prague with the church Sunday school, which was a lot of fun! We went and say the Prague Castle, where we got to see St. Vitus Cathedral (shown on the right), the crypt under the church, the place where the defenestration of Prague happened, the dungeon, and this cute little street that had little shops. The neat thing about the crypt was that most tourist do not get to see them, you have to be Czech...we aren't but since we where with the group we got to go too. After the Castle we all went out for pizza and then back to a church where we spent the night. The next morning we got up and went to...the Zoo! Hooray! The Prague Zoo is really big, and it was a good time. Jeremy and I walked around with Přemek, Madla, and Tomaš. It was fun seeing the typical zoo animals like monkeys, zebra, elephants and tigers, but we saw a lot of other animals, a few we would never expect to see in a zoo..like Canadian Geese! It was so funny! They are such a pest and here they were in a zoo. They better be careful, or the Canadian Goose will take over Prague. I think my favorite thing that we saw were the flamingos. I remember going to the zoo in Erie when I was younger and looking at the flamingos. They where so funny looking standing on one leg in their shallow, blue, cement pond. The exhibit is not longer at the Erie zoo, but it was fun to look at flamingos in Prague and remember and bit of my childhood. After the zoo we got on the train and headed back to Polička.
